The 20th annual conference Philosophy and Social Sciences, which this year will focus on the topic Illusions Of Social Order, takes place on 10-11 November 2020 in Prague and 18-19 November 2020 in Bratislava online.

The conference is organized by our Centre for Global Studies of the Institute of Philosophy of the ASCR together with the Institute of Philosophy of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Political Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

Video-workshop: Confucianism in History and the Present

The workshop will include a launch of the recently published Czech translation of Jiang Qing’s book on confucianism (“Confucianism”), and Vladimír Liščák from the Oriental Institute CAS will give a lecture on “The Forms of Confucianism in History and the Present”. The workshop will be broadcasted online (ZOOM). A discussion will be opened afterwards.

Asixoxe video-conference on African Philosophy: Africa in a Cosmopolitan and Polycentric World

Speakers from Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Hungary, Portugal, Australia, the United Kingdom, the USA, and the Czech Republic will give contributions at this international video-conference. The conference is another series of the “Asixoxe Conference on African Philosophy” which is organized annually by Centre of Global Studies. The video-conference will take place online at ZOOM. After the contributions, a discussion will be opened.

Video-conference “Covid-19 in China and Central Europe: Government Policies and Economic Impacts”

Researchers from the Czech Research Centre ZFC (Hangzhou) and the Centre of Global Studies IP CAS (Prague) will give papers at a video-conference on government policies and economic impacts of COVID-19 in China and Central Europe, with a participation of the Czech Consul in Shanghai and his staff. The videoconference, which will take place online, is organized by the mentioned institutions.
